This Monday you will find the first article written by Barbara. I am grateful and exited that she decided to contribute to the "A New Option" group. For the people who do not know her in person, Barbara is one of those sweet, loving people who will at all times greet you with a smile and energy. She is always open to new things and embracing new opportunities that come her way. I was in the privileged circumstance to read her post before hand. In her first article you will find her energy and enthusiasm splashing out of the text as she shares about the Son-Rise program and her life. I hope you will enjoy it as much as I did.
My love for the Option Philosophy is deep. It started years ago when I read the book "Giant Steps" written by Barry Neil Kaufman. It is my favorite book about the Option Philosophy and for people who have not read it, I strongly encourage you to go to the Option Institute website, purchase and read the book. The eight short stories in which teenagers and adolescents work through serious challenges provide wonderful opportunities to see how every one us can make changes in our lives no matter how challenging the situation may be. It is a book that shows that we can create happier lives.
The classes I took at the Option Institute, and the Mentor training I followed, helped me to change my life in ways I never would have imagined. Now living in the United States, with the most amazing husband, and having my own business, I am able to do the things I want in the way I want to do them. I am thankful to have these opportunities. I also fully believe that everyone can have these opportunities and it's my great desire to help people create them. In this area, my opportunities seem to be growing and growing. Let me share with you..
At the end of last year, while starting my new business, I decided to create a blog. I titled it "A New Option" because I am an Option Process Mentor and I wanted to help people understand that they have options in life that they may never have considered. I wanted my articles to inspire people to take charge of their lives and to create the lives they want. I also wanted to deliver my message in a way that would encourage people who have never heard of the Option Institute (there are still people out there who do not know about it) or the Option Philosophy to want to learn more about them.
Discussing my blog with friends, I realized that there are other groups of people who would benefit from discussions of the Option Philosophy. There are the people who do not know about it, but would want to know about it. There are people who do know about it but have not found a way to implement it in their lives. There are people who have implemented it in their lives, but struggle with explaining it to friends and loved ones. And then there are the people who have done all these things, and are still looking for new ideas to stimulate growth.
So, the A New Option blog quickly grew beyond my original intention and morphed into the A New Option Facebook Group. And it continues to change and grow. The short and long term goals that I posted this week (see link) are just a beginning of a trip never taken, and never imagined. I'm so exited to be sharing this journey with you. My wish is that, over time, your loved ones, your friends and your communities will all know about the Option Philosophy, the Option Institute and the Son-Rise Program, because knowing of the possibilities is the first step to pursuing a new option.
Enjoying the journey,
Iris
