A New Option Goals

A community that is supportive towards each other from the principle that everyone has their own answers and that we can support each other finding the best answers for them by asking non-directive questions.

To create a collection of online forums and group activities where people can discuss the Option Philosophy, get ideas to play with and where people feel free to share their prospective and growth process.

Forum 1: Facebook

Give everyone the rights to invite new members, to create events, add new discussions, start up new activities, upload pictures and movies, propose new blog authors etc.

Forum 2: Blog

A place where provocative articles and materials are posted to help us to further define who we are, what we believe, what we want from life, and how to achieve it.

Short term goals (by July 2009):

1. Increase our membership on Facebook to 1000 people
2. Recruit 30 blog authors so we will have new blog articles every day
3. Recruit four people who will take the lead in creating and operating new activities and/or forums

Long term goals:

Create an independent “A New Option” website with Facebook-like features that support community networking, exchange of information and ideas, creation of activity groups, posting of local events, posting of blogs and general support of the community. The “A New Option” website will provide lively discussion and a support group for people who want to integrate the philosophy into their lives. It will also be a place for people who are new to this philosophy to learn about it, discuss it with others, and discover opportunities to deepen their understanding through programs at the Option Institute.

Where are we right now (March 12, 2009):

1. Membership of 150 people on Facebook
2. Four active blog authors and four additional blog authors lined up, but who have not yet posted. I am in the process of building a personal page for each author, text + picture
3. Actively recruiting additional administrators who will create and manage new activities
4. The URL “A New Option” is purchased
5. The website is in development
